PDF tools that never see your document
Every PDF tool here opens your file with JavaScript running on your own machine. The document is read into the page, changed there, and written back out as a download — it is never sent anywhere, because there is no server behind this site that could receive it.

About these tools
That matters more for PDFs than for anything else on this site. A PDF is usually the format people use for the documents they care about most: contracts, invoices, passports, medical letters, signed agreements. The mainstream online PDF tools do accept those uploads, and the honest ones tell you so — one of the largest states plainly that files are encrypted in transit and deleted from its servers after an hour. That is a reasonable promise. It is still a promise about a copy of your document sitting on someone else’s computer.
The trade is real and worth knowing: because the work happens on your device, very large documents are limited by your own memory rather than by a plan, and a phone will run out of room sooner than a laptop. And some things genuinely cannot be done this way. Reliable table extraction from a PDF needs layout analysis that is not achievable in a browser, which is why there is no PDF-to-Excel tool here — it was built, tested against real documents, and deleted rather than shipped as something that returns a single column of run-together text.
If you are not sure which tool you want: use Merge to join whole documents, Organize to reorder or delete pages inside one document with thumbnails, Extract to pull chosen pages into a new file, and Compress last, after the document is otherwise final.
Frequently asked questions
No. The site is a set of static files with no backend, and the security policy it serves blocks the page from connecting to any host at all except the weather API used by one unrelated tool. There is no address a document could be sent to, which is a stronger guarantee than a promise not to look. You can check the policy yourself on the verification page.
No imposed limit. Each tool caps input at around 100 MB, but the real constraint is your own device, because the file is held in memory while it is worked on. A large scanned document may be slow on a phone and fine on a laptop. Nothing is capped by a plan or a daily quota.
A scan is a picture of a page, not text, so there is nothing for a text tool to extract. Recovering characters from an image needs OCR, which no browser-only tool does well enough to be worth offering. The tools that hit this say so rather than handing back an empty file.
No. The page-level tools copy page objects between documents rather than re-rendering them, so text stays selectable, images are not re-encoded and quality is unchanged. Compress PDF is the only tool that deliberately trades quality for size, and it warns you before it does.
The rest of the toolbox
Every category works the same way — the file or the text stays on your device.
